Had a chat with an old timer that got me rethinking my whole approach
I was out on a job in Surrey last week, pulling coax through this new build. This guy who's been doing cable since the 80s walked by and saw me fighting with a fish tape that kept snagging on a joist. He just said 'you ever try a glow rod with a swivel head instead? Takes half the time.' I brushed it off at first, figured my way was fine. But later that night I looked them up and ordered one for 30 bucks. Used it today on a similar run and it went smooth as butter. Made me wonder how many other tools I'm avoiding just because I'm used to the old way. Anyone else had a moment where someone's simple tip made you feel like you were working too hard?

It's just a fish tape, man. You're acting like he reinvented the wheel.

Claire has a point. It's a fish tape, not some custom machined titanium tool. Guy pushed a wire through a wall and people are acting like he's a magician. Seen a hundred guys do the same thing in half the time.
