Hit install number 500 and the customer's dog ate my coax stripper
Ngl I never really kept count of my jobs until my boss put a little tally sheet in the van about a year ago. Hit 500 installs this week and the milestone job turned into a total circus. The guy had three dogs and the biggest one snatched my coax stripper right off the floor and ran out the back door with it. I chased that dog around a muddy yard for ten minutes while the customer just laughed and said he does that with everything. Ended up finishing the whole run with a rusty backup stripper I found under my seat. Has anyone else had a pet run off with their tools mid job, and did you ever get the tool back?
That is brutal, man. The mud chase is the worst part because you know the dog thinks it's a game and the customer is just standing there watching you slip around. I had a lab puppy grab my channel locks once and bury them in a flower bed, took me twenty minutes to dig them out. At least your backup saved the job, mine was so stripped it kept slipping off the nut. I still check under my seat before every run now, you never know when a dog is gonna turn your tool bag into a chew toy.
