Unpopular opinion: The new fiber installs in the old apartments on 5th Street are a mess waiting to happen
I was finishing a job over there yesterday and saw how they're running the lines. They're just zip-tying everything to the outside of the building, right along the old brick. I mean, maybe it's just me, but that's gonna get wrecked by the weather in like, two winters tops. The whole point of fiber is the long-term speed, but the install looks so cheap. Has anyone else seen this kind of setup and had to go back to fix it later?

Zip-tying to the brick? That won't last a year.

So what's the actual move for a long term brick mount then? Drill into the mortar with a proper anchor? Seen too many zip ties get brittle and snap after one winter, leaving stuff hanging by a thread.

Didn't you have any luck with the Tapcon concrete screws, or did they just not grip right in the mortar?
