Spent $80 on a set of JIS screwdrivers after stripping a plate on a Pentax
They fit perfectly and saved a repair that would have cost way more. Anyone else find a specific tool that made a huge difference?

Wait, aren't JIS and Phillips basically the same? I thought the difference was super minor.

Man, I feel you. I used to think that too until I stripped the head on an old Japanese motorcycle carb screw. The angles are just different enough that a Phillips driver will cam out and wreck everything. It's one of those things you don't know matters until you learn the hard way.

Ever try to use a Phillips on a JIS screw? I made that mistake years ago on a Honda generator. Thought my driver was just worn out, but it kept slipping and chewing up the screw head. Once I got the right JIS driver in there, it felt like it locked in place. That tiny angle difference is a real problem.
