TIL a dab of nail polish can lock a stripped focus ring screw that keeps backing out
Had a customer's 50mm come back twice with the same loose screw on the focus ring, drove me nuts. Tried blue Loctite first but it was too strong for such a tiny screw and I nearly stripped the head getting it out. An old timer at a swap meet in Tulsa told me to just put one small drop of clear nail polish on the threads instead. Let it sit overnight and that screw has not moved in 4 months. Anyone else use nail polish for stuff like this or am I late to the party?
