TIL you don't need to pull the whole shutter assembly to fix a sticky mirror on an AE-1

Spent 3 hours last Tuesday fighting to get a mirror box out of a Canon AE-1 because everyone says you have to pull the shutter to reach the mirror bumper. Turns out you can just fold back the foam with a pair of curved tweezers through the mount opening and swap it in about 15 minutes. I felt like an idiot. Anyone else got a shortcut that the old forums never mention?
