Tried the pencil trick vs shellac for light leaks on a Yashica-Mat
Spent two hours stuffing pencil lead into a groove on an old Yashica-Mat and it still leaked... finally grabbed some shellac from my wife's craft drawer and it sealed up perfect on the first try. Anyone else got a weird hack that beat the standard fix?

Pencil trick vs shellac" - nah man, pencil lead is for cheap hacks, just go with shellac and call it a win.

@gamymason I get where you're coming from but I actually use pencil lead all the time on my Rolleicord with no issues. The trick is to really grind it in deep with a toothpick instead of just rubbing it on the surface. Took me a few tries to get the hang of it though. Shellac is great for a permanent fix but pencil lead lets you undo it if you mess up the alignment later.
