Found a trick with my landlord's lease that saved me $200 a month in Toronto
My rent was set to jump $200 a month at renewal and I almost just signed it like I have for 6 years. A friend who works at a housing clinic told me to ask for the guideline increase in writing, and when I did the landlord backed down because he had skipped the proper form. Has anyone else had luck just asking for the paperwork instead of accepting the number?

Ha, so the secret trick to saving money is just asking for basic paperwork? Wild that landlords count on us being too lazy or scared to push back. Six years of auto-signing and it took one friend with a housing clinic to crack the code.
