Had to pick between a bungalow and a split-level last month

I chose the bungalow because I didn't want stairs after age 60, but now I'm stuck shoveling a giant driveway in Edmonton winter. Anyone else regret skipping the split-level for snow reasons?

Yeah that's the tradeoff nobody tells you about. You pick a bungalow for easy living and then an Edmonton winter hits you with a driveway that could park a semi truck. I've got a neighbor who did the exact same thing, chose the bungalow over a split-level, and now he's out there with a snowblower every storm while his old knees are killing him. Split-levels at least have smaller driveways and the garage closer to the street. Can't win either way, just trading one headache for another.

Wait hold on, you're telling me there are actual neighborhoods where you can park a semi truck in your driveway? Like not even exaggerating? That's insane. I've never thought about snow removal being a deciding factor in house shopping but I guess when you're living up there it makes sense.
