I finally figured out why my open house in Hamilton felt like a funeral
Last Saturday I hosted an open house on the Mountain in Hamilton for a 3 bed semi listed at $649,000. Twelve groups walked through in two hours and not one person asked about the price or made an offer. I realized on the drive home that every single one of them was just there to look at the staging, not to buy. My seller asked me what went wrong and I honestly did not have a good answer for him. Do we need to rethink how we do open houses in this market, or is this just what it is now?
Ever walk into an open house just to see how the other half stages their throw pillows? Honestly that was probably half my traffic too, and I do this for a living.
