Landlord laughed when I asked about the 'creaky closet' - turns out it was a mouse hotel

I rented a place in Vancouver last year and mentioned to the landlord that the closet floor sounded hollow and weird. He just shrugged and said 'old building noises.' Six months later I pulled up a loose board to find a whole nest of dried droppings and chewed wires. Has anyone else had a landlord blow off something that turned into a bigger issue?
