My offer on a condo in Vancouver got beat by a cash buyer with no conditions
I put in a bid on a one bedroom place near Commercial Drive last Tuesday, going 25k over asking. My agent called me the next day to say we lost to someone who paid cash and waived the home inspection. This was the third time this has happened to me in six months. How are people even competing with that? Has anyone found a way to make a financed offer stand out?

That cash offer thing is brutal, and it's happening everywhere. Feels like regular people are getting pushed out by a different set of rules. You see it with concert tickets getting bought by bots, or limited edition stuff selling out in seconds online. It's that same feeling of the game being rigged before you even get to play. How are you supposed to build a life when the goalposts keep moving? Does it make you want to just give up on the whole idea sometimes?
