Overheard a realtor say 'your offer is too emotional' at a showing last weekend

Some guy was on the phone outside a bungalow in Mississauga. He kept saying feelings don't pay the mortgage. Is that really how you win in this market or are you just missing out on homes you actually want?

Feelings don't pay the mortgage" is a pretty cold line, but my feelings have also paid for a lot of takeout I definitely couldn't afford. I feel like if you're dropping that much money on a place, you gotta at least kinda like the kitchen or something. Otherwise you're just paying for a roof and a whole lot of regret.

Hate that cold logic in a seller's market. You're still buying a home not a stock portfolio. At some point you have to actually want to live there, right?
