PSA: My condo board tried to hike fees by $300 without a proper vote
Last month in Toronto, my building's management sent out a notice saying our monthly maintenance fees were going up $300 starting immediately. They claimed it was for a new elevator contract. I checked the bylaws and found out they skipped the required owner vote. I called a emergency meeting with 12 neighbors and we pushed back. Board backed down and now it goes to a vote in June. Has anyone else had their condo board try to sneak through a big fee increase?

Wait, it's $300 increase, not $300/month.
