Biked through the Cabot Trail last fall and the shoulder lanes were a mess
I rode the Cabot Trail in October and nearly got clipped three times because the paved shoulders just vanish without warning in the middle of a curve. For a route that's supposed to be a world-class cycling destination, the lack of consistent bike lanes is dangerous. Has anyone else found a safer way to ride that stretch?

Three clipped tires and zero bike lanes sounds about right for Nova Scotia.

I'll admit I used to roll my eyes at the bike lane complaints, until I got my own tire slashed on the shoulder of Highway 2 last summer. That stretch near Lantz is basically a game of frogger with potholes and logging trucks. Three tires in one month finally got me to sign the petition for protected lanes on the Eastern Shore.
