Half throttle through a blizzard or pull over, I chose wrong in Manitoba

Last February I was heading west on the Trans-Canada near Brandon when the sky just turned white. My GPS said 40 km to the next town, so I had to decide: throttle through or find a ditch to wait it out. I picked pushing through, and 10 minutes later my visor was iced solid and my fingers were numb through the heated grips. I finally stopped at a gas station shaking, and the attendant laughed and said 'brave or dumb, eh?' Has anyone else gambled on a storm and lost, or do you always bail early?

...and that's exactly why I refuse to ride in November now. I did the same thing in Saskatchewan, not even a blizzard, just a sudden freezing rain thing, and my visor fogged up so bad I had to crack it open. Then the ice started building on my gloves and I couldn't feel the clutch lever at all. Ended up pulling into some random farm driveway and just sat there for an hour until a guy came out with a thermos of coffee and told me about the time he hydroplaned into a moose. I mean, that made me feel better about my choices, but now I always check the weather app like five times before I even gear up. Idk, maybe the attendant had a point about brave vs dumb, but I like to call it a learning experience.
