Hated the idea of chain waxing until a buddy broke it down

I always thought waxing chains was just extra hassle for no gain, but my friend showed me his drivetrain after 800 km and it was still spotless, so I caved and tried it. Now I'm kicking myself for all those years of greasy messy chains, anyone else hold out on this method for too long?

Wax still leaves flakes everywhere in my dry climate though.

700 km on a single wax job in wet conditions and my chain still looked clean. The key was letting the wax fully cool and harden before I broke the chain links. Worth the extra 10 minutes for how much it cuts down on cleaning.
