Just had to pick between a 2-stroke and a 4-stroke for my new sled up in Timmins, and I went with the 4-stroke for the reliability.
After my old sled left me stranded twice last season near Gogama, I decided the quieter engine and less frequent maintenance was worth the extra weight for the long trail rides I do.

Getting stuck up near Gogama is no joke, especially with the cold. Been there with an old sled that just wouldn't stay running. The peace of mind from a reliable four stroke is worth every extra pound on those long trails to Hearst. You'll be glad for the quiet too, makes the whole ride more chill. Solid choice.

You made the smart call. My last two-stroke was such a high-maintenance drama queen, I spent more time fixing it than riding. @rivera.simon is right about the peace of mind, and that quiet ride? You don't realize how nice it is until you're not listening to an angry bee hive for six hours.
