Logging road near Smithers taught me to check tire pressure before leaving town

Was heading up to a camp spot off the Hudson Bay Mountain access road last Saturday. Didn't bother checking the tires since the truck sat all week. Got 14 km in and the rear passenger side was reading 18 psi on the dash. Air compressor in the box saved me but it took 20 minutes of squatting in the gravel. Now I do the quick gauge check every time I fuel up. Anyone else got a spot they only reach after a near miss like that?

Honestly, 18 psi is wild. That’s basically a flat tire rolling on the rim, I’m surprised you even felt it before the dash told you. Tbh I had the same thing happen on the road to the Buck Ridge trails out of Terrace, but I didn’t have a compressor and ended up limping back 10 km on a donut in the rain. Now I check mine every single time I fill up too, and I carry one of those little 12V slime pumps just in case.
