My 1998 Gold Wing's radio quit halfway through Ontario, and a trucker's tip got it back
Last month I rode from Thunder Bay to Ottawa to visit my brother, and about 40 minutes past Wawa the radio on my 1998 Gold Wing just went dead. I pulled into a truck stop outside Blind River, and an old guy driving a flatbed said the fuse block on those old Wings gets crusty from road salt and to pull every fuse and hit the contacts with a pencil eraser. Took me ten minutes in the parking lot and it fired right back up, no new parts needed. Now I'm wondering how many other old Wing owners are out there chasing radio gremlins with a multimeter instead of a two dollar eraser.
