My rear rack bolt snapped 30km outside Kelowna and a zip tie got me home
Was doing the run down from Kelowna last Saturday when I heard a pop and my whole pannier started flopping. One of the two bolts holding the rack had sheared right at the frame. I had a spare bolt in my bag but no way to get the broken piece out without a drill. Ended up wrapping the rack to the seatpost with two zip ties and a shoelace, then rode 30km of gravel like that without it moving once. What's everyone carrying for emergency rack fixes, am I the only one who never thought to pack a little hose clamp?
