Pro tip: stopped booking rides through the app aggregator and started calling dispatch direct
I used to always book through the main app because it was easy. But after I got stuck waiting 45 mins for a pickup near Hamilton last month, I called the hub's dispatch line myself. Turns out they had a driver right around the corner but the app algorithm was messing up. Saved me 20 bucks on the fare too. Anyone else ditch the middleman and just call the hub?

Man, I had almost the exact same thing happen to me! I was trying to get from downtown to the airport and the app kept saying no cars available. I called the dispatch number for the local taxi co-op and they had a guy parked two blocks away. Plus they didn't tack on that stupid surge pricing. Now I just save all the local dispatch numbers in my phone for the areas I go to most. It's way more reliable and honestly feels more personal, like you're talking to a real person who actually wants to help.
