PSA: check your tire pressure before the Coquihalla, my rear tire let go near the Sowaqua exit
Rolling back to Vancouver from a Kelowna trip around 7pm, temp dipped to about 2 degrees and I felt the rear squirm before the Sowaqua exit. Pulled onto the shoulder, and the tire was down to 18 psi when it should have been 36, so I limped to the brake check area and pumped it back up with a little 12v compressor. Cold mornings plus that climb up the Coq will drop your pressure way faster than you expect, and I had skipped checking it for almost three weeks. Made it home fine, but the sidewall took a beating and the shop in Chilliwack said I was close to a blowout. Anyone else get caught by the temp swing on that stretch, or is it just how I'm loading the bike?
