Rant: Overlooking bike adjustments before a family trip almost caused a crash

My youngest's handlebars came loose on a downhill slope, and it was scary. Double-check all parts, not just the tires, when riding with kids.

That reminds me of when my kid took a spill learning to ride without training wheels last spring. Bent the front wheel pretty bad on the curb, but the worst of it was just a skinned knee under his jeans. Kids bounce back fast, way faster than the bike did.
