Thought those $15 heated grips from the Halifax bike show were junk, but my fingers say otherwise

Rode through three weeks of freezing rain in Dartmouth with them and they never once cut out, so now I'm wondering if anyone has run a cheap set for a full winter and had them quit halfway through February.
