Why does nobody talk about how hard it is to find a good group ride that isn't too fast or too slow?

I moved to Vancouver last fall and have been trying to find a Saturday morning group ride that fits my pace. The one I tried with a bike shop was all guys on race bikes doing 35 km/h average. The other one was a casual coffee cruise that barely hit 15 km/h. I ended up starting my own small group with three other riders I met at a coffee stop. We do 25 km/h for about 50 km and it's been perfect for 4 months now. Anyone else have trouble finding that middle ground pace in their city?

Moved to a new city a couple years ago and felt the same way. Honestly thought I was being picky but nope, the gap between hammerfest and slow roll is real. Started lurking at the same coffee shop every Saturday morning and eventually caught a few riders who were also looking for that middle ground. Now we meet at 7am, do 25-27 km/h for about 60k, cut the nonsense at the red lights. Tbh I used to think it was just me being difficult but seeing how many others felt the same way changed my mind completely.
