Got roasted by a neighbor for my car cover setup

Back in 2020 I used a cheap tarp and bungee cords on my Mustang. My neighbor Bob walked over and said that tarp will scratch the paint worse than leaving it outside. He was right. I switched to a fitted indoor cover and a portable carport for $180. Has anyone else had a neighbor call them out on bad storage habits?

My buddy Mark thought he was being smart with a blue tarp and rope on his old Camaro. Bob across the street came over and said it looked like he was hiding a dead body. Mark got defensive but Bob was right, the tarp flapped around and left little scratches everywhere. He ended up buying a real cover from Costco for like 60 bucks and it actually fit nice. Bob even helped him install it because he felt bad about the dead body joke. Now Mark just parks in Bob's driveway when it snows, that's how they became actual friends.
