Serious question, is a non-climate controlled unit really safe for a classic car?
Back in March I was checking on my 1972 Cutlass at a storage place outside Tulsa and this older guy pulls up in a mint '66 Mustang. He saw my cardboard boxes under the car catching drips and laughed, told me he'd kept his Mustang in a basic metal garage for 18 years with zero issues. I've always paid extra for a climate unit at $175 a month, he pays $60. I asked about rust and he said the dry Oklahoma air does more than any fancy system. But my buddy in Florida lost a whole floor pan using a non-insulated shed, so is it just about local humidity or am I wasting cash on climate control?
