The garage rack that held 200 pounds more than the box said

I bought one of those plastic shelf units from a big box place, rated for 350 pounds per shelf. I set it up to store tires and some car cleaning stuff. Last weekend I loaded it with a full set of 20 inch wheels plus a trans jack, probably 550 pounds on one shelf. The thing didn't even creak. I had assumed plastic racks were junk after a cheap one sagged on me back in 2019, but this one's got steel brackets inside the beams. Has anyone else found the ratings on these are way off in a good way? Idk if I just got a different batch or manufacturers are being extra cautious these days.

Man, I feel this. My junk drawer shelf collapsed under like ten pounds of loose change and regret back in 2021, so I get being scarred by cheap plastic. But yeah, I've noticed the good ones are way more solid than they let on, probably just covering their butts on liability. Honestly I'd rather have them underpromise and overdeliver than the opposite, my back can't handle rebuilding another rack.
