Three garage racks later, I finally counted my total tire capacity

I spent last week stacking all my wheelsets, winter tires, and the track day spares onto three wall racks in my 2 car garage. When I counted the rubber total, it was 14 tires. That number felt crazy for someone who only owns one car. Then I realized every single one has a reason, but storing them all flat against the back wall was the only way I kept my parking spot usable. Has anyone else hit a storage count that made them rethink their whole setup?

Man, 14 tires for one car is completely understandable when you break it down, it never feels like a lot until you see them all piled up together. I hit 11 myself last winter with two sets of rims and a spare pair of beaters, and my wife gave me that look that says "really?" until I explained the logic of having a backup plan for every season. It's not hoarding if each one has a job, right? That's what I keep telling myself anyway.
