Totally get that. I see it all the time where people avoid casual meetups, then hit a wall when they need a favor or info. Like my cousin who never goes to local events and had no one to ask about repair tips when his fridge broke. Those low key connections build up a safety net we don't notice until it's gone, and job hunting is the same way.
