My whole plan to switch to a tech sales job just fell apart

I spent the last 6 months doing an online course and networking like crazy, even had a final interview lined up. The company ghosted me after that interview, no email, no call, nothing. I followed up three times over two weeks and got zero response. Now I'm back at square one with my current job feeling like a dead end. Has anyone else had a company just vanish on them after getting so far in the process? How do you even bounce back from that?

My friend went through almost the exact same thing last year with a big software company. She did months of prep, passed three rounds of interviews, and then got completely ignored after the final one. It took her about two weeks of calling and emailing before someone finally responded with a generic "we went with another candidate" message. She was crushed for a while but ended up taking a different role at a smaller company that actually values her more. The ghosting really is a reflection on them, not on you or your skills. All that networking and knowledge you built up is still there, you just need to find the right place to use it. Keep pushing forward, the dead end feeling will pass.

Honestly, calling it "back to square one" feels off. You built skills and contacts for six months, that doesn't just disappear. The ghosting sucks, but that's a them problem, not a reset on your progress.

Ugh, that vanishing act is so common now. I see it everywhere, from contractors not calling back to companies just leaving you hanging. It really makes you lose trust in the whole process.
