Paid $900 for a resume rewrite and got nothing but generic phrases

I hired this popular resume service last month after seeing their ads everywhere. They promised interviews in 30 days but just rearranged my bullet points into fancy buzzwords. The hiring manager at a local startup actually laughed and said the resume sounded like a bot wrote it. I rebuilt the whole thing myself in two nights using free templates and landed two interviews in a week. Anyone else throw cash at a service that was worse than doing it yourself?
