PSA: The coffee shop near my gym is full of people doing job interviews now

I was at The Daily Grind on Maple Avenue last week and I swear, three out of five tables had someone in a button-down shirt doing a video call. It made me think, are we all just expected to find a quiet public spot for this now? I had to wait ten minutes for a table because a guy was finishing up his second round with a tech startup. Has anyone else had to scramble to find a decent spot for a virtual interview lately?

I booked a study room at my local library last month for a video interview, it was free and totally quiet.

Oh wow, that's a great idea! My friend actually tried that last year when she was job hunting and her roommate was working from home too. She booked a study room for a zoom interview and said it was dead quiet, like a little bubble. But here's the funny part, she got so nervous before the interview that she accidentally locked herself out of the room and had to track down a librarian to let her back in. The librarian was super nice about it though, even gave her a bottle of water to calm down. She got the job too, so maybe the library luck helped!

Smart move. I heard some library systems even have dedicated soundproof booths you can reserve for this exact thing, like a phone booth for grown ups. It beats trying to look professional while someone's arguing about oat milk at the next table.
