Tearing up during a client pitch changed my career for the better
I was pitching to a big client and just started crying from the pressure. My boss said it showed I really cared and gave me more work to do. Everyone tells you to stay calm at work, but I think letting go sometimes helps. What's your view on showing emotion at the office?

My friend cried during a budget meeting, and it made her seem more human to the execs.

Wonder why it helped her instead of hurting her. Like, was she crying over a specific program getting cut, or just stress tears? I mean in some offices that would backfire so bad, but maybe the execs were all numb from spreadsheets and it shook them. Curious if her team saw it differently than the bosses did.

I saw a mom cry at the grocery store once and the whole checkout line snapped out of their phones to help. Sometimes a raw moment just cuts through the usual script, you know?
