The week I got laid off and hired in the same 5 days
Last October I got called into a meeting on a Tuesday morning and walked out with a severance packet and a box of desk stuff. By Wednesday afternoon I was so mad I applied to 14 jobs in one sitting, mostly stuff I figured I had no shot at. Thursday a recruiter from a small company in Austin called me back, and Friday I had a phone screen that turned into an offer by Monday for $8k more than my old salary. The weird part is I still felt awful all week even while it was going well, like my brain didn't believe it yet. Has anyone else had a job hunt go sideways fast like that?
