Took me 5 months to find a job after a layoff, but the real problem was my resume format
Got laid off in March from a logistics coordinator gig in Phoenix. I sent out like 60 applications the first month and heard back from maybe 3 places. A recruiter finally told me my resume was two pages and had a table with skill bars, which auto-reject bots can't read. I rebuilt it as a plain single page with bullet points, and within 2 weeks I landed 4 interviews. Has anyone else gotten ghosted because of a fancy template they thought looked good?

Feel you on this one, man. I spent years doing a fancy two column thing with icons and color blocks thinking it made me look sharp. Turns out it just made me look like a graphic designer who cant do the actual job. When I finally stripped it all down to plain text and dates, the calls started coming in way faster. It's wild that something as dumb as a table can tank your whole search, but the robots are the gatekeepers now. Glad you figured it out before going totally crazy, that ghosting phase is brutal. How are you liking the new role so far?
