Warning: That IT certification everyone pushes took me 18 months longer than I planned
Signed up for the CompTIA Security+ thinking I'd knock it out in 3 months like the online bootcamps promise. Real life hit - working full time, family stuff, and the material was way denser than I expected. Ended up taking me almost 2 years of on and off studying to finally pass it. Anyone else find those 'study in 30 days' timelines complete BS for working people?

Same thing happened to me with the Network+. Those bootcamp ads are straight up lies for anyone with a full time job. Breaking it down into small weekly goals was the only way I made progress, like just 30 minutes a day on my lunch break. The key for me was using practice tests way earlier instead of waiting until I finished all the material. It showed me right away what I actually needed to focus on instead of spinning my wheels on stuff I already knew.

Oh man, that practice test tip is gold. Same thing saved me on the A+.
