Was skeptical about coworking spaces until I visited one in Portland last month

I always thought they were just overpriced coffee shops with annoying networking vibes. But a friend dragged me to this spot called The Commons on a Tuesday. I noticed like 20 people just quietly working, no sales pitches, and there was a soundproof booth for calls. The whole thing felt more focused than my home office honestly. Has anyone else had a change of heart about coworking after actually visiting one?

Wait, free coffee AND snacks at The Perch @taraj11? That's wild, most places I looked at charged extra for that stuff and it added up fast. I figured you'd be paying an arm and a leg just for the privilege of sitting there, but if they throw in the goodies too then the price tag starts making more sense.

Tbh I had the exact same doubts until I tried a spot in Austin called The Perch. Honestly the soundproof booths were a game changer for me too, made it way easier to take client calls without everyone overhearing. Ngl the free coffee and snacks helped sweeten the deal, but the main thing was how quiet it stayed most days. Definitely changed my whole view on renting a desk outside my place.
