Changed my mind about using pocket screws for a built-in bookcase
I was building a floor-to-ceiling unit for a client in Springfield and always defaulted to pocket screws for face frames. My old boss, Greg, insisted on mortise and tenon for anything over 6 feet, saying screws would let it sag. I finally tried it on this 8-foot project, and after a year, the doors still hang perfectly straight. Anyone have a go-to method for tall casework that holds up?

Greg was right about the sag, but have you tried adding a center stile for extra support on really wide units?

Oh man, I read somewhere that glue is actually doing most of the work anyway lol.
