Left my miter saw on the floor for 3 years, built a $40 stand last weekend
For years I just cut stuff on the ground or on two sawhorses, which killed my back and gave me sloppy cuts on anything over 4 feet. Last weekend I finally made a simple stand from scrap 2x4s and a $40 sheet of plywood, with the saw deck level with my bench so long boards get support the whole way through the cut. Why did I fight that setup for so long, and what is the one shop upgrade you put off way too long?
