My main circular saw blade shattered on a pressure-treated 2x10 yesterday

It was a Diablo 60-tooth finishing blade that I'd used for maybe 8 months. The whole thing just came apart with a loud bang and sent pieces flying across the garage. Anyone have a go-to blade for PT lumber that can handle the wetness and grit?

ben402 said that Diablo blade explosion would've made me jump a foot, but honestly, I'm more surprised you got 8 months out of a finishing blade on pressure treated lumber. Those 60-tooth blades are made for plywood and trim, not wet, gritty 2x10s. The high tooth count means less gullet space for clearing sawdust, so pitch and grit build up fast and cause heat. I'd grab a 24-tooth Diablo framing blade or a Freud rip blade for PT stuff - fewer teeth, bigger gullets, way less chance of that bang. You're asking a finishing blade to do a rough framing job, and it's going to let you know.

Seriously, I saw a video breakdown of that exact attack. The sound design is what gets you, it's this weird wet crunch right before the fire goes everywhere. They spent months getting the timing just right so it feels unfair but also predictable if you're paying close enough attention. My first time through that fight I absolutely launched my drink.
