Overheard a framer in Boise say he uses a 3/4 inch spacer block for every rafter seat cut

Tried it on a shed roof last week and it shaved an hour off my layout. Anyone have a different go-to spacer size for speed?

Used to mark each birdsmouth by hand and swore it was the only way. Grabbed a scrap piece of 3/4 ply as a spacer on a whim last month and it felt like cheating. My cuts lined up perfect the first time and the ridge dropped right in. That framer in Boise might be onto something.
