PSA: the guy at the lumber yard in Tulsa said 3 words that changed how I stack a truck
I was loading up last Tuesday (a 12 foot order of 2x10s, nothing fancy) and the yard hand watched me start piling them flat on the bed. He said "edge up, always." Turns out flat stacking lets the boards bow under their own weight on the ride home, especially in this heat. Standing them on edge, just slightly leaned, keeps them straight and makes the unload way faster. I've been doing it wrong for 5 years and never once thought about it. Simple stuff but it stuck with me. Anybody else got a yard guy shortcut they learned the hard way?
