Rant: Wasted $80 on a fancy digital angle finder that died after 3 months

Thought I was upgrading from my old Swanson speed square, but the thing stopped holding zero in the middle of a stair stringer layout. Has anyone else had bad luck with those battery-powered angle finders holding up on site?

$80? Man that hurts just reading it. Can't believe it gave out right in the middle of laying out stringers of all things, that's brutal timing.

Brutal timing" is right @milesrobinson, but I actually think $80 for a tool that worked three months isn't a total loss. Battery stuff dies fast, and at least you didn't sink $200 into something that crapped out the same way.
