Saw a guy at the Portland rebuild site brace a sagging porch with two scraps and a wedge
Stopped by a house flip on Alberta St last Tuesday and the lead carpenter had a 4 foot sag fixed with a cedar shim and a scrap of 2x4 in under 10 minutes. Made me rethink how much hardware I buy for simple shoring jobs, anybody else lean on scraps more than brackets?
