That cheap chisel set from the hardware store actually held up for 6 months
I bought a $25 chisel set at the big box store last spring expecting it to dull in a week lol. After sharpening it three times and using it on a pine desk I built in Wichita, it still cuts clean. Has anyone else found a budget tool that surprised them?

Found that same set and figured I'd be replacing it in a month but it's still holding up fine on plywood and pine projects. The trick seems to be keeping the edge off concrete or metal so the cheap steel doesn't chip. Gotta wonder if the manufacturers are secretly using better metal than they advertise to compete with the premium brands.
