That job in Phoenix where everything that could go wrong did go wrong

Last summer I had a trim job in Phoenix where the temp hit 115 on the third day. My nail gun jammed on every other shot and I ran out of glue twice because it was drying in the bottle. The homeowner kept changing their mind about the crown molding height after I already cut half of it. By Friday I had to re-cut 30 feet of baseboard because their dog decided to chew the corners off. Has anyone else dealt with a job that just snowballed like that?

lol oh man I feel this in my soul. My last big job was supposed to be a quick weekend reno and turned into a two week nightmare because the homeowner decided to "just see what's behind that wall" and we found knob and tube wiring everywhere. That 115 degree heat with a jammed nail gun sounds like a special kind of hell, and the dog chewing the baseboard corners made me actually laugh out loud because I've had a cat literally sit on my fresh crown molding while I was measuring. Some jobs just have that dark cloud following them from day one and you know within the first hour it's gonna be one of those. Hope you at least got paid well for the headache.

Adding to what you said, that first hour is always the tell. You get that gut feeling something's off and you just know it's gonna be a battle. Worst part is you can't even walk away because you're already committed.
