TIL some guys are still using dull blades on their miter saws

I was helping a buddy frame a shed and he kept getting these rough, splintered cuts on his 2x4s. Turns out he hadn't changed his 12-inch blade since he bought the saw three years ago. How do you not notice the burning smell and the extra effort it takes?

Honestly, that's how you get kickback and lose a finger.

Agree with @aaron_wilson17. Dull blades are just asking for trouble. Change it yearly at least.

That kickback point is spot on. It's like people ignore basic maintenance until something breaks or almost hurts them. You see it with dull knives, bald tires, the whole deal.
