After 7 years I finally figured out I was stretching carpet wrong
A 60 year old installer watched me for 30 seconds on a job in Cleveland and showed me I was knee kicking at the wrong angle, has anyone else had an embarrassing 'aha' moment that late in the game?

Wait, 7 years? That's wild. I've been doing floors for 12 and only last year a tile guy showed me I was keeping my blade too hot when cutting vinyl. Felt like a total idiot for a whole decade. What angle were you kicking at? It's crazy how one little thing can make such a huge difference.

Saw a guy at the hardware store last week, probably 60 years old, holding a caulk tube like it was a snake. I asked if he needed help, turns out he'd been using the wrong nozzle size for 30 years. Makes you wonder how many little things we all just blindly do wrong forever because nobody ever stops to point it out. The floor thing is the same - you get in a rhythm and don't realize you're fighting your own tools.
